I was thinking of having The Star Wars theme tune as my leaving song after our wedding ceremony in July, I want it to be a fun…. Do you think its a little too ridiculous? Does anyone know who chooses the songs for the dancing routines on Dancing With The Stars? My biggest peeve is when they pick non-latin songs for the latin dances…especially when it’s a slower song that the band has sped up to fit the dance/choreography.

Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t always bad; sometimes it actually works…like when Joey Fatone danced to the Star Wars theme or when in season 2, Drew Lachey danced to Thriller…but mostly I think that not using a latin song for the latin dances takes away from the routines.

I’m working on a sci-fi series (using the game The Movies) and am looking for a ‘futuristic’ (or techno, I suppose) tune to give it a kind of introduction. Think the Star Trek or Star Wars theme. Something you can imagine a spaceship flying by to.

Or, can you suggest any FREE programs to make my own music on? But I am not prepared to pay for anything like that, which is why I’m just looking for a song that already exists.

I’m currently a music student in college and, obviously, I have to be able to nail all the intervals. To do so I’ve found the best way is to associate the certain interval with how a song starts such as the Theme song for Star Wars, that starts with a perfect fifth, or the "I’ve just met a girl named María" song from West side story which starts with an augmented fourth (the Simpson’s also starts with an augmented fourth! You know… When it says "THE SIM…" those to notes are an augmented fourth if you hadn’t noticed) and well I was wondering if any of you could help me with a couple of songs I might know (or get to know) that could help me with intervals:

minor 2nd- Don’t think it’s necessary, but I have one already… JAWS! Any others you know?

major 2nd- Don’t think it’s necessary either since… Well, both the ionian and aeolian scales start with a 2nd major, but if you have a tune, throw it anyways!

Minor third- don’t think it’s that necessary either, but toss it any-who.

Major third- another I don’t think is necessary, but keep ‘em comin’

Perfect Fourth- I confuse this one a pinch, if anyone knows any songs that start with a perfect fourth I’d appreciate it!

Augmented fourth- I already have two, but I’d love to know a couple more. Composers don’t normally start songs with augmented fourths.

Perfect Fifth- Star Wars theme! Still, it’d be cool to know a couple!

Minor Sixth- I don’t know any songs (well I probably do, I just haven’t really thought of it)

Major Sixth- "Go West" by I have no idea who. It’s an a Capella I have to produce a a song. Others are welcome!

Minor Seventh- No songs come to mind for minor sevenths

Major Seventh- No songs come to mind for major sevenths either, but this one is easier to spot since it’s just a semitone under the octave.

Octave- Not really necessary either.

During the AL players’ introduction I heard the Star Wars theme but when the NL players were being introduced I couldn’t hear the music. What were they playing?
no during the AL it was star wars but it wasnt during the NL it was something else
no i think I wouldve known if it was still playing I clearly heard it during AL but i heard something else during NL I just couldnt hear what it was

Heres my idea:
Our senior class splits into two teams, one wears white, the other black.
Everyone brings a light saber to school, and during lunch, someones sneaks into the P.A system, blasts the STAR WARS theme song, and every senior busts out with their light sabers, fighting to their death.

This can also have othert themes, such as Pirates vs. ninjas, or we could all just dance thriller wearing torn up clothing.

So…cool or lame?
