I haven’t seen it but some people are saying it was one of the greatest movies of the last decade and that the Toy Story trilogy is the best ever (which I find strange. What happened to the original Star Wars trilogy or The Lord of the Rings?) So yeah, why did people like it so much.

am a toy collector. Have little over 100 pieces in original boxes etc., star wars, barbie, lord of the rings….. to name some. Whats the best way to put items up for bid? seperate pieces or in lots per collection….. any ideas, or advice?

Okay. Time to geek out, me and my friends like lord of rings, but we want to see all of it in the same day, in the extended edition, Blu-ray version Every little clip, scene, noise, and sound, absorbed into our minds. We are going to buy 3 gallons of popcorn kernels, the entire rack of 7/11 candy, and every bottle of coca cola on the eastern border. We are going to have breaks and we will have like 20 people over, it will be like those old commercials for netflix you know the "it’s movie time" commercials? anyway my question is what is the best lord of the rings movie set with all special features and also includes the extended edition on Blu-ray, please post link. P.S. We are probably going to do the same for star wars, and harry potter. so please help, I dont care for the price as you can tell we have already probably spent close to ,000 on snacks alone and blu ray player. now that think about it, im going to buy a projector. anyway dont call us geeks, we are just hard core movie fans, with alot of money, (not really that much money, hell alot of this was exaggerated, like 2%) lol, Thanks!

This debate is the hardest so lets get started:

Lotr……
Story= 12 hours of journey
Characters= Each character has their own personality and likeability
Script= Flawless and never one moment are the lines awkward
Visuals= cgi still looks good after 10 years,models are groundbreaking
Landscapes= most beautiful world if its real
Action= battle scenes always ranked in top 10′s of websites
Soundtrack= shore won 2 oscars and millions of $
acting= every second is full of emotion and effort by actors

Star Wars:
story=6 hours of journey, and EWOKS
characters= most iconic characters of all time no doubt
script= excellent, but can be dodgey in places
visuals= never matched till CGI was created
landscapes= hoth/endor/tatooine beautiful in their own way
action= battle of hoth and space battle of endor are impressive
soundtrack= williams created most famous music ever
acting= mark hamill and carrie fisher are a little off sometimes

ALL IN ALL:
lord of the rings win, its script/acting are far superior, but both are groundbreaking musically and visually
fyi, star wars is Industrial Light & Magic………LOTR is Weta Digital

ok im 13. and i am kinda a dork i LOVE lord of the rings and star wars. i like a lot of fantasy movies or SiFi i dont like scary movies i actually like to go to bed and be able to sleep so exorcist is off my list.

i was debateing with my friends brother the other day about how sequals are never as good as the original, i said it wasnt always true
these were my examples as to why i think that:
lord of the rings, scooby doo, star wars, fantastic 4, toy story…

I know this is getting old but I just really have to say this:

I have seen MORE postings and comments by people that hate Twilight than by people who love it.
It seems that the people that hate Twilight are making a bigger deal out of it than any one else. They keep posting on the Net, websites that you can go to and trash talk the books and author, they have groups where u can say how much you hate the books and author. They keep posting on Y! and other places things like "Do you hate twilight as much as I do?!?!?!’
or "Twilight sucks and it was written like SM was drunk!!" (How super annoying and inmature!)
Don’t they know that any thing that’s big (book/movie/game) gets alot of attention.

Fact: Lord Of The Rings was HUGE when it first came out (movie) everyone wanted the books, everyone wanted the toys, everyone wanted the video games! People are still talking about it and how awesome it is, video games are STILL being made based on the books and movies!

Fact: There are millions of Star Wars fans and the toys,games and comics are still selling like crazy.

Fact: With the new movie to Star Trek the old shows are back on TV and the toys are being put back in to stores, people are going crazy over the upcoming movie!

Why didn’t any one attack them when they were/are big?
People are getting really annoying with all the hate posts about Twilight. Every time some one even HINTS that they like Twilight, some hater ‘has to’ jump in and start trashing them AND the books. . . .I don’t get it

Okay, these haters have made their point, they don’t like it because of some silly spelling mistakes( not many at all) or how the book was written, or that Edward was to perfect(if you actually read the books you would see that hes NOT. He has problems and troubles just like every one else in the book) or that SM sucks at writing, or they just didn’t like it. We get it, the haters really dont like the books but enough is enough!!

I know that the 1st is typically the best and I know that there have been some pretty bad sequels out there. But to me it seems like the first sequel is always really bad and then after that, it gets better.

I can imagine Sidious trying to mind control Sauron but Sauron would kick him out of his mind lol. Sidious would then try and lightning him but I don’t think it will affect Sauron much. Sauron wins by decapitation. Not to mention he can’t really die-he’d probably haunt Sidious in the rare instance he was killed.

As for Count Dooku vs Saruman-Count Dooku for he is more agile and a better swordsman.

Sauron would probaly finish off Dooku with black magic

We did not mind Jedis, Chewbacca, R2D2 and C-3PO; we relished them. We didn’t question Sauron, Gollum or Balrog. Then, why is this outcry when Shyamalan introduces Narfs, Scrunts and Tartuics? What is the explanation? Why is ‘Harry Potter’ not ridiculed? Agreed, the ‘Star Wars’ is set in the future, and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ in the past. The Lady in the Water is a bed time story. Can’t the critics accept a few non-real characters in a bedtime story?
